Low Income Mitigation Program

The Low Income Mitigation Program utilizes guidelines developed by the Colorado State Forest Service to create defensible spaces around the home to help you minimize the risk of damage posed by wildfires.

This program is open to property owners in the Aspen Springs, Twin Creek Village, and Pagosa Highlands Estates subdivisions located in Pagosa Springs, CO. Applicants whose household income is below 85% of the Archuleta County median household income are eligible for wildfire mitigation work at no charge to them.

Annual household income must be below $38,766 and the property must be in one of the listed subdivisions in order to be eligible.

Proof of income is required via a copy of previous year’s tax form, etc.
